Common Name: Elegant Stinkhorn

Synonyms:

Stalk Color: Pinkish-red

Comments: 

A fairly common soecies in landscaped areas. Fairly simple ID as well. Look for the olive goo on the tip with a pinkish-red stalk. 

Lookalikes:  

Mutinus ravenelii has a swollen head and tapered stalk.  Phallus rubicundus has a head that hangs somewhat free from the stalk. Mutinus caninus has a swollen head, whitish stalk, and weak odor.
