Rhodotus palmatus

Common Name: Netted Rhodotus

Synonyms: Pleurotus subpalmatus

Substrate: Wood

Location: Hardwood Forests

Spore Color: Pinkish

Gill Color: Pinkish

Comments:

This mushroom is an easy ID when it is younger, but gets harder with age. The first thing to notice is that it is growing from wood. Next you should notice the pinkish or rosy red surface that is covered with a netting of gelatinous veins. As the mushroom ages, these veins fade and turn the cap into a slimy surface.

A great find if you catch it with the netting in full.
