Lenzites betulina
Common Name: Gilled Polypore
Synonyms: Gilled Shelf, Multicolor Gilled Polypore
Substrate: Wood
Location: Hardwood Forests
Spore Color: White
Gill Color: White to Yellowish
Comments:
A "gilled polypore" may seem like a misnomer, but it is what makes this mushroom special and easy to ID. The upper surface looks similar to a Turkey tail, with multiple zones of color, but there are gills when you flip it over, rather than pores.
