Marasmius strictipes

Common Name: Orange-yellow Marasmius

Synonyms: Collybia strictipes

Substrate: Ground Debris

Location: Hardwood Forests

Spore Color: White

Gill Color: Yellowish to Pinkish Buff

Comments:

I tend to think that this mushroom feels more like a Gymnopus, and it did used to be in Collybia. It is quite large for a Marasmius.

Look for the yellow cap and the Collyboid type stem.

Lookalikes:

Gymnopus subsulphereus and Rhodocolyybia butyracea are similar.
