Marasmius siccus

Marasmius siccus

Common Name: Orange Pinwheel Marasmius

Substrate: Ground Debris

Location: Hardwood Forests

Spore Color: White

Gill Color: White

Much like Marasmius rotula, the cap of this mushroom tends to have striations emanating out from the center (pleated cap) that gives the cap a pinwheel pattern. The main difference is that this mushroom is an orange color.

Rhizomarasmius pyrrhocephalus does not have as many striations and has hairs on the stem. Marasmius pulcherripes has a pinkish cap. Marasmius fulvoferrugineus has a rusty brown cap.
