Comments: 

This little crust fungus is very commonly mistaken for the Turkey Tail mushroom. The main difference is that this has a smooth undersurface, while the Turkey Tail has pores. It can essentially be found year-round,. and is probably the most common fungus in Midwestern hardwoods.
