Ampulloclitocybe clavipes

Ampulloclitocybe clavipes

Common Name: Fat-footed Clitocybe

Synonyms: Clitocybe clavipes

Substrate: Ground

Location: Conifer forests

Spore Color: White

Gill Color: Cream

This can fruit very abundantly in pine woods. With all Clitocybe, look for the light spores and decurrent gills. As the common name suggests, next look for the enlarged base of the stem. This mushroom does not decay very quickly, so it is possible to find it long after it was fresh. It also likes to form fairy rings in the Pine forests.
