Cantharellus cibarius

Common Name: Golden Chanterelle

Synonyms:

Substrate: Ground

Location: Hardwood forests under oaks

Spore Color: Yellow to White

Gill Color: Orangeish

Comments:

As with all chanterelles, these mushrooms have "false gills". They are not sharp and blade-like, but rather well developed ridges.

Lookalikes:

These mushrooms should have well developed false gills, as opposed to C. lateritius which is nearly smooth on the underside.
