Amanita citrina

Amanita citrina

Common Name: Citron Amanita

Substrate: Ground

Location: Conifer Forests

Spore Color: White

Gill Color: White. May yellow with age

Look got the yellow-green cap, a slight bulb at the base, and growing under conifers. I have not seen it under hardwoods in Indiana, but there are reports of it. The gills should also smell like raw potatoes.

There are also a couple of variations to this mushroom. One has lavender tints to the cap, and the other has a split in the bulb at the base.
