Comments:
Stocky white mushroom with gills running slightly down the stem. This is a decomposer of litter on the forest floor. One key feature to confirm your ID is that the gills of Leucopaxillus easily separate from the cap, as can be seen in the picture below.
Lookalikes:
Leucopaxillus albissimus is found under conifers.
